Is there confirmation on blade steel? I hear 10cr15mov?

Thank you!

I love the original folder and the premium versions. As a fixed blade though, I feel like there is wasted space between the faux flipper tab and blade. I feel like there should have been a real choil there or something.

I have no experience with 10Cr15CoMoV. How does it compare with your 9Cr18Mov?

Thank you for the suggestion.

I can't tell the difference between 10cr and VG-10 (I have both in kitchen knives). They feel the same on the stones and I am able to get the edges to the same level of sharpness. Edge retention seems similar. On kitchen knives, I tend to notice their characteristics the most when they make contact with the cutting board. VG-10 and and 10cr feel exactly the same to me.

Thanks for the quick replies. I looked it up versus VG-10 and sure enough, they could be twins.

I asked how it compares to their 9Cr18Mov for another reason. Composition matters but so does heat treatment. While 9Cr18Mov is usually a decent budget steel, WE/Civivi takes it to the next level. They've really perfected the heat treatment for 9Cr18Mov. Besides out-cutting 9Cr18Mov from other companies, it outperforms a lot of the Chinese D2. IMHO, it's the new benchmark for budget knives.
