According to Travis Noteboom of BM, Vance Collver just completed a nice little study he calls the "Vegas" to be unvealed at the Shot Show. Also, keep an eye out for a few more special items. Any one heading to the Shot show, please snap a pic for the rest of us. Travis said he's going to try and post a scanned image on the BM Forum.

oh no.. help me... it's benchmade bali overload...

Can't wait to see some pictures! :)

Yeah --- overload -- SHOT Show will be great, as Tony said BM will have some unusual stuff on display -- some "one of a kind" and new goodies as well. A few posts back we were discussing SS handled Balis- IIRC correctly, I said something to the effect of "I'll take bets that BM will offer them". I do NOT have info from BM on this -- its just a gut feeling --- I'll still take the bet !! Hope it happens, for all of us. I'm still thinking of having MER do SS insert handles on a BM-31. :)

Yeah that will pretty exciting to see what BM brings to the Shot Show. I've never met Rick in person so that will be fun.

I've been unsuccessful for 26.8 years in getting Les to change the Company Logo to a Lazer-Bat with "glow-wings".., but my hopes haven't dwindled!

I'm hoping that Sniperboy's shirt design may open new domains for artistic expression

, but obviously the "Butterfly" logo and Cacoon Sheath will be tough competition for my Lazer-Bat and Kevlar-Cave-Bali-Dispensing-Units.

Eric has assured me he can make "winged-butt-caps" on latchless handles, so this project is starting you "flow"....

No Don, I disagree, they need to issue the 42 with stainless handles, :-) I like the blade design of the 42 much better, and if they do reissue a new "45" I'll still carry a 42. And yes I have several 45(s) and 44(s)

Mike

I go with the 42-SS also. I'm still not happy with the latchgate adding an extra 1/4" to the overall length, but it's a evolutionary design that should not go away....

As for blade style, neither is a true weehawk, but you can remedy that on the 42. :D

I could deal with a stainless steel handled BM42! I'm not long to get a hard with dagnabbit! As for the extra bit of length for the latchgate, I'm actually rather fond of it because I have meat-clubs for hands. They're CLUBS I tell you! :D Anyway...I can understand where some would want the handles to be more size-efficient too [Tony]. Ha!

I just wish they would do something to bring back the magic they once had, and...I fully realize that to other people, their magic might be the 42/3/7 because that is what they started with.

But the SS-42/3/7 is a cool idea and I hope they do that. But what do I know? I've only been saying that for over a year now.

If you REALLY want SS handles on a 42 blade, just pay Mer to do it, I'm sure he's more than willing to. With Mers tolerances you'll get a product much better than BM can offer in a production model, the only thing is the price of the 42 and new handles, but it's still cheaper than a custom.

Already in contact with Mer about refurbishing my BM45S...might have to send the BM48 as well...dunno yet. :)

Now, and this is hypothetically speaking, wouldn't SS handled knives cost much less than Ti handled knives? Tooling would last longer, material is cheaper. Man if they do the 42/43/47 with SS handles I'll be poor forever! Yeah poor and giddy as all hell!

While we are at it, I'd like to see the 48 and 68 reissued. why not the 10. The 10 would be a good knife to start with. Oh hell, just start making them all again. Inculding the Customs.
