I picked up a Dragonfly 2 just before Christmas. I had always wanted a Dragonfly, but did not want the molded clip and just didn't care for the higher end G-10. Then came the Dragonfly 2. Perfect little office EDC to go with my slippies. I took the clip off the Dragonfly 2 and carry it in the pocket of my suit.
I put it through its paces on Christmas. I have two little kids. As you can imagine every little box came with multiple ties, screw-downs, widgets, clamshells, and what-nots. Between a screwdriver and the Dragonfly 2, I made quick work of the toy boxes, much to my kids' delight.
Now, I gave my father-in-law a Delica 4FFG for his birthday. A few months later he brought it back to me. He needed it sharpened. To my joy, I could tell he had been using the knife hard. To my greater joy, on Christmas Day, my mother-in-law (who hates knives) pulled me aside. She said she saw how useful the knife I had given my father-in-law was. Did I know of one, perhaps smaller, that would work for her? I went and got my wife's beloved pink Delica and let her compare that with the Dragonfly 2. She really, really liked the Dragonfly 2. So, I did what any good son-in-law and knifenut would do. I went and got the box. I put the clip back on the knife. I touched up the blade and gave it to her.
My mother-in-law (who hates knives) now carries a Dragonfly 2. She loves it. She carries it clipped in her purse. She's used it many times. She sent me a nice thank you card.
Me.....I went and bought another Dragonfly 2. What can I say, it's a wonderful knife.
