A variation of the first knife I made. Built several since, a few of which are in harms way. This one is forged from 3/8" stock 1095FG from Aldo. 9" blade, 14" overall, sculpted/textured Industrial Black Canvas micarta (the good old stuff). Differential heat treat, traditional "bevel" on both primary and clip edges (for some reason alot of customers that order these want "bevel" edges).

Any how, a few pics-

what did you use to finish the handle, Matt? Nice and grippy looking.

looks like a knife built for armageddon:cool:

can someone clarify what is meant by bevel edge:confused:

hi all, and thanks.

crossada, what i meant by "bevel" edge is that its not a convex edge that I would normally use, but an edge applied with a clean, distinct bevel. Much like most factory knives would use.

Lorien, the handle is gone over with a rasp then bead blasted, gives a very good grip even when wet.

It was brought to my attention that I should have used it for destructive testing due to the small forge pitting visible at the choil... I think its much better served going to Iraq via the USMC.

Looks Pretty Cool to me Matt,Like that's a big suprise. You make some of the Best Knives out there when it comes to Fighters & Bowies IMHO.
Keep Up the Great Work Bro,

I love it Matt!

I'm really likeing that guard/choil area --- looks like there's no slipping forward on this one. And the textured micarta looks awesome too...

Very slick looking unit Bro and the handle texture is fantastic.

Some Marine is going to be very happy :)

Tough looking piece, Matt. Love the profile!

Matt, that's the blade profile I have been spending several e-mails trying to ask for. Slap some wood slabs on one and ship it to Missouri! :D

Bet that is one comfortable bowie! Looks great.

I must confess, I ordinarily prefer a guard on a bowie but that brute doesn't suffer from the lack of one...
