The response to the sole-authored custom Variants of our Vietnam Tomahawks has been wonderful. I enjoy doing these pieces as much as folks like snatching them up.

Variants offer features and value beyond our standard line. Each one is sole-authored by me and takes the creative genius of Peter LaGana's Vietnam Tomahawk into new directions. I only wish he were alive today to see some of the well received variations of his design. Peter himself experimented with "Variations" to include fileworked handles, hammer-poll versions, and fiberglass handles...all within the context of his Vietnam Tomahawk design.

Offline, we have received inquiries and orders from folks who saw a Variant too late, but still wanted one just like it...or at least a Variant as close to the one they saw as it can possibly get. The answer is, YES, I will consider each of these requests and do everything I can to give the customer what he wants.

I thought it would be helpful to itemize the Variants done so far on a dedicated thread, so folks could review what has been done, offer suggestions on the forum or off, and ultimately, have an organized venue to enjoy and purchase them.

The list will be updated regularly.

VERY cool and customer relaited!
GREAT idea!
Now...to throw a monkey wrench into the frey...could you do some of the mods to a R.R 'Hawk?:D

Mr. Pisco, I've been big fan of your work. Someday I hope to own a piece of my own. But could you tell me what the point of the "serrations" are on the head and spike of thes hawks? Are they decorative or functional?

The Serrations on the Hawk that I have (Industry Hawk) are clearly Functional. Each serration is a decent width Chisel grind, spaced a good distance apart. When the edge is passing through a media where the serration and normal edge meet it causes the media to almost tear in two separate directions at the same time.(I can only assume that this way they are called rip-cut serrations) The result of this serration on soft testing media is impressive compared to a standard edge.

well andy it looks like i almost have my wife talked into buying me the viet. tac tomahawk [hopefully] i hope its as sharp and great as it sounds

Ed,

Tell your wife to call me and I'll explain to her why you need a Vietnam Tactical and then for the next couple Christmases, birthdays, Easter, Father's Day, etc. I'll explain why you need a tomhawk for those, too. :D

We have a tomahawk for every occasion!
