RescueRiley urged me to share about this place I'm at, and I figured it was a good segway to let you know what is going on right now and why life is so busy! (Sarcasm with a dump truck folks, I'm truly blessed) I moved from Raleigh to Sparta (few months back), and the digs aren't to shabby. I'm staying in this house until the rental property is ready. Its right on the New River, with its own trout pond and 50 acres. 5 miles from any road, and sadly (or awesome), any internet. They wanted $200 to put in satellite, and Dialup sucked so I use in town, or at Ash's place. Its kinda working, but having 32 emails over one missed day gets OLD.

If you look carefully on this picture, you will see a bear cub foot print on the window of the shed a few hundred yards away. Cute!
Since the Peru trip, I haven't really posted many outside pics or updates about any trips. I've been working my tail off, and when I get out I kinda just started leaving the camera at home and focused on tracking and watching game, noticing things while out on the ridges, and going out only for an hour at a time enjoying the outdoor office. But time is precious and I'm busier than a termite colony in a sawmill. Rightly so, because after that Peru trip in October I had to focus on something else....marriage! Jan 2 the jute knot gets tied, and by that time the rental will be ready with good old DSL, and a full finished basement for me to take over! Its still out in the woods, though not as much
and luckily I will always have access and a room here whenever I want. Until then...I'll manage some how
So I've been cutting bush time to just small treks into the woods, probably until after January.
After January, everything should be back to normal, with more posting, pass-arounds, videos, events, and camaraderie.
Though spending time at Ash's temporary place with DSL has its perks too:
