Small plain Sebenza arrived today!
This is the closest thing to perfect I've seen.

Time to start saving my pennies. I may be ruined.

I'm still waiting for my REKATS

Easyrider,

You did good, my friend.

.

For the price of ONE 'Benz, ya can buy 3 or 4 REKATs, and from what I'VE seen, the REKAT is just as good a folder as the VERY EXPENSIVE Sebenza.

PS...This ISN'T a "flame" on the Sebenzas.

Congrats on the Small Sebi!

Glockman, which REKAT do you refer to? I was intersted in a Small Sebi for a while (I own a Large Classic MM), but after seening the Camillus 154CM EDC, I forgot all about it! How many of those can you get for the price of 1 sm Sebi? At least four with spare change... IMHO the small model is a fair bit overpriced, god the large is an amazing knife, but is not that much more than the small. Then again I am a very cheap git.

You're right - the REKATs fold every bit as well as the Sebenzas do. Well, they're not nearly as smooth as a Sebenza, and they tend to have more play that a Sebenza, and their design isn't as pleasing to my eye, and their cutting efficiency isn't as good as a Sebenza's, and their materials of construction aren't as good as the Sebenza's, and REKAT's fit and finish aren't even in the same galaxy as a Sebenza's. But it does fold. This ISN'T a "flame" on the REKATs.

to all you cat lovers...does the tail get in the way?

I just don't get it with the Sebenza, I understand what has been said, but I look at them and just don't get it.

I have a buddy of mine who has been considering getting one, I keep encouraging him to get one so I can play with it.

I guess it is kind like Harleys, "If I have to explain, you wouldn't understand" I hope to get one someday, or at least try one for myself. Not a flame on anyone or anything.

Hang in there John. It IS worth the wait.
Easyrider, I think you said it right. It is kinda like the Harley thing. I don't have a Harley, but I always have undersrtood.

I'm still waiting for my Sebenza... I guess it would help if I coughed up the money and actually ordered one!

I'm just having trouble getting to the point of spending that kind of money on a "knife", no matter how nice. I'm still young and furnishing a house, so my day will come....

Yes Paul, you are "ruined". Now, you'll use your Sebenza as a yardstick to judge every other folder you look at. I know. I received my Small Plain Sebenza three weeks ago. There's nothing like them. I've been known to sit around at night in my pajamas with mine clipped to the waist band.
smile.gif
Little silly, I know. Why would I need a knife when I'm in my PJ's? Because I WANT TO FEEL IT, and know where it is, that's why. (By the way, I'm saving for a "woodie" too.)

You too the word right out of my mouth Paul.

Had mine for two weeks and I still drool a bit when I look at it!

Enjoy your ruination!

I'm here to tell ya, Paul! "Nearly" EVERYBODY understands what you mean.
Sebenzanista's, that's what we are! We need a T-shirt!
It's the "Sebenza Vortex" that I referred to over in the CR section.
