Well I finally got lucky and scored an OD Swamp Warden. I think this is the small EDC I have been searching for. I was afraid that it was going to be too small for my hands but it fits perfectly. I saw the thread here with various wraps for the Warden and decided to give it a shot myself.

Here is what I decided on:

I am a really big fan of a deep front finger guard. Just one of my "things". So I decided not to take the wrap too close to the choil so as to keet as much of a front guard as possible. I alos have some kydex pants in the works and I think the wrap being this far away from the choil will not interfere with the sheath.

Here are some shots of the SW in hand:

I was pleasantly surprised at who comfortable the SW feels in hand. The wrap gives it a little extra to fill the hand but even wrapless it feels great.

Sheath on the way. I have some interesting ideas on various ways to carry this and will post pics later.

The only mod, other than a wrap, that I would even consider on this is a thumb ramp. But I am not sure it even needs that. Just a thought.

And if weather permits It'll be with me on a little outting planned this week with some fellow HOGS. So I should get some decent pics and perhaps a vid or two of the SW in action.

Anyway, my first impressions are very positive. Now it needs to prove itself this week.

Thanks again Eric and staff.:thumbup:

LOOKS GOOD
nice job tykron.

i can never figure how to stop them from un-wrapping

Great looking wrap and great pics. Thanks for posting them. I may have to do another wrap similar to yours. I like the idea of keeping it back off the blade to give you a finger choil.

I can't wait to see what you do when you get the sheath

:D:D

Sweet Wrap!! I need to come up with something like that as well so that it'll fit into it's sheath! Thanks for sharing those!

I'm psyched to get mine. I think an IWB kydex would be sweet for the SW. I'm really enjoying seeing the different wraps you guys are coming up with. I'm thinking of doing a Strider:eek: wrap on mine when it arrives. Sacreligious I know, but it is a cool wrap. I'll post pics if I figure it out.

A hint for ya Vance... drop some super glue on the 550 cord. It works GREAT!!!

looks great man.... i love the little wardens as well. they are one of the best EDC blades I have ever seen. if i can just find a place that takes a credit card that already has some sheaths on hand, id buy 3! because i have 3 SWs!!!

I love my Swarden. I have a real soft spot for small flat EDC fixed blades.

I don't know how the HookGuard got in there? but of all my small edc fixed blades the Swarden is the best. The Strider ED is nice but it does not have enough cutting edge because of the dropped point and is no where near as comfy in the hand.
It is a bit better for neck wear because it's lighter. It cost way more than the Swarden and is not as much knife though

The big CS thrower with the wrap actually EDC's very well thanks to a Rainwalker sheath
and how slim it is.

I am looking forward to the next challenger to the Swarden. Spyderco is coming out with a similar blade in 52100. I have a hunch they have been influenced by the Rats. I hear they have had a heck of a time working with it as well.

It will be a good fight but my money is on my Swarden.
I would like to pick up a Busse skelly Warden to throw in the mix. Sorta like whoever wins the next one faces the champ. Normally INFI would be a no brainer but in a knife this size
edge retention is probably more important than toughness. The Busse has better corrosion resistance but that is neatly balanced by the Rat costing half as much.

Here's my wrap -- stays really tight and all you have to do is pull on the lanyard portion to tighten it up a little. Not the greatest picture though.

Excellent wrap. It looks like your method adds a little more to the center. Perhaps filling the hand a bit more. Very nice.

Anyone thinking of stripping theirs? As soon as I mess up the coating from use I'll be going satin. I'd love to see a satin or DCBB Swamp Warden. :) I keep my knives dry so I am not worried about corrosion.

nice wrap! emergancy paracord. light weight. nice little package. now i regret not picking one up! would go great wit d chopweiller! (big knife little knife theory). did you order kydex or leather?

kydex on the way. Mainly to keep it as compact as possible. But I am thinking about getting a leather or have a piggy back sheath made so I can carry mt FFBM and SW together. But the kydex should be here soon and I have a couple different types comming in. I'll post pics as they arrive.
