We have a collaboration here of kami Sanu Bishwakarma and our master sarki, Kamar Sarki, who said "if you give me the leather and some time I can make a better scabbard than anybody in Nepal."

Kamar may have done just that and Sanu has provided us with 18.25 inches and 2.25 lb of dynamite khukuri, half inch thick and two inches wide. It is up to his usual standards, excellently crafted and hardened. He has put a stars motif and hatchmarks as shown. Karda and chakma are 6 & 1/2 inches, excellently done and hatchmarked. This is one that almost went under the bed but as long as Sanu and Kamar are alive I know I can get another so this one goes to some lucky customer.

This may be of some interest to collectors to know. This is the first white leather khukuri scabbard (it looks like cowhide but I seriously doubt that it is) I have ever seen either in Nepal or out.

The price for this rig is $175 and this is a bargain. The boss is here to move some khukuris, I can clearly see.

Call or email.

! Shorty does it again !

Man, this is good stuff. If I did not already have Forward Curving I would want this one. Go for it, folks, you won't be disappointed. The price can't be beat, either.

When I am feeling a little richer I might special order another Forward Curving from Sanu with a white scabbard and handle (bone or ivory).

Namaste,
Jeff Paulsen

Take a good look at the blade decoration. Sanu used similar motifs on my "Sun, Moon, Stars" forward curving khuk. Mine was just a lot bigger surface for him to cover. But this still gives you the general idea.

Rusty, he uses something different on every khukuri he makes that is similar to this one.
And, he is consistent in the quality of his work. He is a fine kami and still has many years ahead of him.

Kamar did a great job on this scabbard. I have a pix of him I will try to get posted. Do not have a pix of Sanu.

Congrats Bruce! If it feels anything like Forward Curving #1 then it is a fantastic khukuri, and the white scabbard makes it look like you could wear it to senior prom

(note: wearing a giant knife to a school function is not legal in many places, even if it goes with the outfit. check your local regulations)

Oh Yeah....It would fit right in with the powder-blue tux w/ ruffled shirt, and the matching white belt and shoes (a.k.a. the "Full Cleveland")! Naaaahhh! Even _I_ wasn't _that_ geeky in high school!

Bill-

How would you describe the profile? It looks narrower than an AK, yet wider than a Sirupati. More like a WWII or BAS pattern?

Congrats Bruce!
May I copy pix of your White Scabbard Special for my Screen Saver - just for few days! - OK!

Just when I thought "man, that's about the coolest looking khurkri I've ever seen" you pull something else out of your hat Uncle Bill.

You, Pala and all of the Kamis are to be commended. Your pieces have always been museum quality but some of the work coming out of shop 2 has just been downright breathtaking! Between the infinite variety of blades being produced by the visiting kamis and the addition of the Royal Kami to the shop staff I am left with the dillemma of paying my mortgage or buying as many of these amazing blades as I can! Seriously though, I cannot think of a better arrangement than what we have here. The young kamis get to learn and be inspired by the masters, they all get to make a good living and we get to enjoy some of the finest handcrafted blades the world has ever seen! Bravo!!!

Mike

Many thanks for kind words. We are in the best of a win-win-win situation for everybody and I certainly like to be in this position.

When we called last night I asked what kind of leather it was and the answer was "goat."
What kind of goat I do not know. They have varieties ranging from some little lowland fellows to the big hairy mountain breeds. But whichever, it was a great scabbard.

We are in the process of a major upgrade in scabbard quality -- I finally got them to listen to me!

The blade form is one Sanu is very good at making, a forward curving or very near that design. He is a very capable kami.
