So I couldn't help but wonder.

Whats the difference between the Rodent Waki, The Scrapizashi (if I spelt that right), and the Busse Ak47?

Which, in your opinion, is your favorite?

Are there any others like this out there (if not on the market currently) that I have yet to find?

Any other comments?

Ty.

AK-47 (INFI) = 31.0 ounces; 0.1875” thick; 18.5” blade; 29.0” oal (currently unavailable from the factory)
Rodent Waki (SR-101) = 31 ounces; 0.195” thick; 17.0” blade; 27.625” oal (currently available from the factory)
Scrapizashi (SR-77) = 29.2 ounces; 0.190” thick; 17.375” blade; 27.25” oal (currently unavailable from the factory)

Based on price and availability, my favorite is the Rodent Waki . . . the only one of the three you can currently buy from the factory.

I doubt your average user would be able to tell much of a difference in use. As the previous poster mentioned, you would be better off making a decision based upon pricing and availability.

For me the others are copies. I like the real deal made from INFI. I'm sure the others are great. But Jerry designed the American Kensei, and the AK-47 is based on that design. I am a very happy camper to own both an AK-47 and a Gladius. Can't get much better than that. Now if I could just afford and get a MOAB I could die right now.

+1. The most noticeable difference would be in the pocketbook. ;)

PS: The Scrap Yard Scrapizashi is due to be released "soon". When it eventually arrives, it will be the lowest priced among the three swords mentioned in this thread . . . around $300.00 shipped. That's still WAY too much to spend on what for me would amount to little more than a novelty.

Hmm you have a point there. I think we should do a study about whether or not the increased performance of the AK-47 has anything to do with the increased aerodynamics and reduced weight of the user due to their wallet being a good deal lighter.

All three swords are heat treated by Jerry Busse. That means they'll all be tough as nails and strong as hell. The real differences among them will be in their edge holding capabilities and their warranties. (The cord-wrapped handle on the Scrapizashi is NOT covered under the Scrap Yard warranty. Re-wraps if necessary will run $49.95 plus the cost of shipping the sword back to the factory.)
