I was at a neighbors house and saw a quick advert for this show on the Travel Channel: The Wild Within.

The host, Steven Rinella follows local modern hunter/gatherers to find out how different people fed themselves.

I haven't watched an entire episode (I don't currently have the channel it's on) but it looked interesting and a little different than the usual survival-type show. Caught a couple of clips on Youtube and it looks interesting.

Anyone else catch it?

Here's a clip (I thought was appropriate for this forum ;))...

I'm just waiting for someone to post full episodes on Youtube. ;)

(Why did I wink? I'm dead serious.)

It is a sweet show indeed! The episode where he travels to Hawaii was a really cool one. I think he communicates what hunting is for a lot of people in a really good/informative way.

I saw one show about going to his cabin up in AK and how he respects the food that he harvests. It grabbed my attention when I was out and made me wish I hadn't canceled cable 8 years ago. I know alot of people that call themselves hunters that need to watch that episode.

I've seen a couple of the episodes, it's actually a pretty good show.
Not all hyped up with some "survival" guy jumping off cliffs, & drinking his own urine.
(I guess in desperate times, either one of those may be necessary, but getting a broken leg isn't my idea of surviving.)
Anyway, good show. Actually shows hunting, skinning, butchering, ect. A lot of stuff mainstream T.V. doesn't have the stomach for. That alone gives it a thumbs up from me.

I saw one episode so far and it's a great show! The guy was a professional trapper by age 10 and has been living off the what the land provides pretty much his whole life. I think his dad was a professional guide also. If you were to get lost out in the woods, this is one guy you would want with you! No Bear type antics just some cameras following him around hunting, fishing, trapping, and cooking in the outdoor lifestyle. His wife is in the show also.
