How does this hawk throw?

I like the new sheath. Are both made out of O1?

That is fantastic! At the moment I carry a Hood/TOPS ATAX. I like it because it stays out of the way while hiking but is always at a ready position. My one complaint is that when I do need to do some chopping with it, before securing a handle, it puts a lot of force into my arm and hand that is not very comfortable.

I'm considering a hawk to replace it and now that I see this new ATC/TOPS combo hawk I'm very interested. Could you please post the specs of this hawk? Length? Steel? What is the purpose of the rear surface with the lanyard holes? Can it be thrown with out fear of the slabs breaking? Is this a prototype still in R&D?

Lastly, when will this combo be available?
