Hey BF! I'm making this thread as a result of my longing for my 0566. I want to see how it comes out after being pimped to my specifications  Because I cannot stop thinking about customizing my knives, I wondered if I could do something on my own. One of my favorite knives immediately came to mind - the wonderful Kershaw Knockout. Honestly, I originally bought this because (1) it was going for an amazing price for any Sandvik Kershaw, (2) it had some customization I had never seen before (I was pretty new at the time), and (3) it really looked badass. So I picked up a regular Knockout 1870 with an acid washed blade. I love it so much. So fun to flip and seriously is a beast of a knife with that belly  Shortly after purchasing this knife and thinking about customizing it, I found the 1870OLBLK - the 1870's black blade and olive handled cousin. DAMN SHES A BEAUT! I had to get it. I finally recently found one off the forums and picked it up. Check out what my two Knockouts look like now :D

What do you guys think?

The First Knockout (1870 with an acid washed blade):

The Second Knockout (1870OLBLK):

The New Knockouts:

Let me know your opinions! I need to disassemble the olive one once more because it's rubbing a bit :grumpy: I'm also thinking about sending it out to get the rest of the hardware acid washed :D

Nice collection of Knockouts. I think some of the earlier Knockouts had G10 handles as well. I don't remember if it had a different model number though.

Yea, the original release of the Knockout was in G10.

I believe there are 4 versions that I am familiar with.

The black aluminum handle, the O.D. aluminum handle, the original g10, and the red aluminum handled snap-on.

I didn't know about the G10 ones!

Nice! The Kershaw Knockout and Blur are my favorite Kershaws hands down!

Oh I'm there with you! I have a user 1670BLK and my EDC BDZ-1 Tanto :-D

I need to look into getting one of those for sure!

I need to see if they still make that snap on version

I just remembered the Snap On one when I was searching for the OD one. I like the red but the logo kills me. Still a great looking knife overall, though! And mars5l, they're selling blems of the Snap On on eBay!

Damn, those blades are sick! Congrats, brother! Two sexy frankenKnockouts you've got there

Aside from the guys who collect all the Snap On Kershaws, I don't see why anyone would buy those knives. You're paying MSRP for the same knife except with the obnoxious logo on the handle, am I missing something here?

Here's a video I did on the G10 Knockout. It was such a cool knife.

it think what you stated is the main reason why, collect snap on branded knives. Youre probably paying more than MSRP vs a regular version of actually. Im an auto mechanic and I started drinking the Snap On kool aid a few years, its a pretty tasty kool aid btw. I really havent seen any of the other big tool companies have their own branded knives made by some company. They all sell Kershaw, CRKT and Shrade, but snap on is the only ive seen have their name stuck on it. Its like tech guys that have keychain stuff from other tech companies. You should see the other random Snap On and Mac tools house wares I have, shot glasses, steak knives, coolers

There are two red versions - 1870RD and 1870RDSO...

Awesome! I'm not so interested in the Snap On ones, though. Those are both Snap On, correct? I just looked both of them up and they came up as both Snap On.

Thanks, John!

Great review! I may have tracked a G10 one down for less then $70 ;-) If so, I'll post it up in this thread!

I'm more into the Piston myself. Like the longer more slender blade and G-10.

I really like my Knockout, used to carry it more than I do now but it's still one of my favs. Put some skateboard tape on the scale when I first got it for grip..

Nice work with that skateboard tape. Looks like it came from the factory that way. :)
