This is a very happy day for me. I have spent a great day with family and friends and turned on the computer to find an unbelievable image in my inbox.

The work of Russ Andrews JS, immortalized by Coop and owned by me :)

If I recall correctly it is an 11" blade of W-2, damascus fittings on knife (and sheath!) and spectacular piece of Amboyna for the handle. A real "whoa" temperline too. From what I can tell it all flows together perfectly. The overall effect is really spectactular, don't you think?

The knife was roughly inspired by a Fisk knife I had seen a few years ago, but the execution and final design here is 100% Russ. I gave him some rough guidelines and he really over-achieved, as usual.

I consider him one of the top bowie-smiths in the world at this point. I can't wait to get this one in my hands.

Thanks to Russ and Jim for spoiling me today! Bravo! You are both Maestros of the highest order.

Coop said he took 50 images to get the three shown. Looks like you had two masters doing what they do best. Very, very, very nice bowie and great images.
I assume Russ does his own sheath work? A great package, I would say.

I have to say that I consider that to be as nice a bowie as I have seen. I'm glad I have put my name on Russ's order list three times. The first one will be in the works this fall.

The man does fine work, doesn't he?

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

Congratulations Anthony.
Truly spectacular Bowie.
Coop's pics capture it.

Anthony,

What could possibly have been going through your mind?
If you come to your senses, and want to unload this baby, let me know.
I'll do what ever I can to help bail you out. ;)

Best,

Peter

If you're waiting for me to argue to the point you best get comfy - it'll be a while. ;) Congrats on a terrific bowie from one of the very best!

There is a LOT of hoopla surrounding Russ Andrews II and his unobtanium superclean knives. This was an opportunity for me to get the real scoop.....

It's all true! Damned if the finish on the knife wasn't as fine as I have EVER seen. The blade has the finest (I mean in fine grit) handrubbed finish, that it comes off as polished. Under 'normal' lighting you swirl the knife and the hamon reflections and clouds just spring out and then disappear. They are very elusive to capture normally. I used my techniques to capture it in one careful shot. It took a number of tries. It was well-worth the time spent.

Holding it in your hands gives you a feeling of awe and mastery. It is huge. Russ is the Master. I am but the messenger.

I want to hear Anthony's impressions when it is in-hand....

Coop

Wow, that's awesome! I know that wasn't easy, Coop, but you got it! Clearly you have excellent taste, Anthony. Congratulations.

Coop's talents really bring it to life...Thanks Coop!

The blade is W-2, a bit over 12", The guard is two bar opposing twist,
and the ferrule is four bar opposing twist. Fineal and frog button are
from the same bar as the ferrule.

Thanks, Anthony.

I've seen a lot of Russ's knives over the years, but this has got to be the best bowie yet.

All sorts of things come to mind when i see this knife. Trying to be eloquent in this case is not easy. the only thing I can say is WOW. Russ and Coop have it together. Great job guys.

Awesome bowie, Mr. Andrews.
Incredible picture, Coop.
You suck, Anthony. (meant in the nicest way - really!!!)

Congrats to everyone involved!

I have over a year wait but happy none the less to be on Russ' list. :D
