If I were able to commission a knife to be the best seller Busse had ever done I would start with a this...

And add to it Jerry's talon hole at the end of the riccaso but instead of a normal talon hole shape for a lanyard I would taper the lower curve of the talon hole U curve to be ground down to a chisel point or even an inverted "U" shape for a handy strike point for a ferro rod. Then altering the blade so that it had a fully convexed spear drop point like this type of blade .....

but done along the lines of the SAR 4 type of grind in Satin with the Nuclear Meltdown type of spine with the gimping for a forward grip...and offer the knife as per the Tankbuster model without the finger choil so the edge came as close to the handle as possible...

Then I think you would have the ultimate 5 inch Busse RMD clone which would have the features for batoning and ferro rod use and bush craft type skills to enable me to relax in my search for a great Busse " small belt knife" and have the best 5 inch "Busse" "user" knife I could think of....what do you think?

Would an Infi spear point no finger choil Nuclear Meltdown spine RMD shape be a good offering?

I think it would be fantastic:thumbup::cool::cool:

I was sitting here sharpening my RMD as I opened this thread.

I think an INFI version of a RMD with Busse styling would be a killer cool knife.

Oh great!

Just when I was feeling pretty good about what I have in the collection you go and show me a pic like that and plant the little seed to buy a BATAC.:grumpy:

Now to figure out how to find a satin bp version.:)

Hey, what can I say? I'm an INFI addiction enabler, it's what I do! :D:D

My personal preference says that BATAC is too tall for ideal shape. I would like it to be full flat or full convex ground at about the height of the RMD.

Yes I feel the same....I tried the BATAC route....the LE was too high and a lot too thick at .25....made it very handle heavy....the closest I can come to what I mean is if you were to take the Jackhammer and cut out the ricasso and finger choil and then glue the blade back onto the handle so the edge went right to the back...but in the height dimensions and handle dimensions of the RMD...so a bit smaller than the JH...

Got to love the JH though for sheer "convex" cutting power and beauty:thumbup:

At Ratmandu sized Jackhammer would be sweet, especially with the convex edge.

HRLM is my favorite Busse family blade... but I haven't had the privilege of owning even a 1/4 of what's out there so I am not speaking from experience.:D

IMO, if those didn't have CBT they would've been much more popular.

CBT on a knife that small seems pointless to me.

I agree, never seen the point of the CBT.

The HRLM is a sweet knife.

A ratmandu sized version of the jackhammer, but thinner blade, without the CBT would be the perfect blade.

Lot of people talked about the batac, its way to thick of a blade for its size to be useful IMO.

It's always been my understanding that CBT reduces weight while maintaining a respectable amount of rigidity. Two things a knife the size of a Jack Hammer doesn't need.:foot:

I agree with you on the BATAC being too thick for its own good.:foot:
