Well, our WWIII handle maker - or should I say, handle artist - read the threads about the WWIII, and had this to say:
Well, I am honestly amazed that this guy is so willing to do flexible things. Here's the question I want answered:
DO PEOPLE WANT THEIR OWN CUSTOM WWIII, OR DO THEY WANT TO OWN ONE OF A SERIES OF HOMOGENOUS "FIRST RUN" KNIVES?
Granted, it may cost a bit more to handle all the logistics of customizing each knife, but we're willing if we're able.

I read the Bladeforums thread with great amusement. You have your hands
full. If it would help, I can vary the finish of each handle per the
owner's preference . . . Another
thought which may help you in making sure that your customers know what
they're getting would be to finish the two slabs on the prototype
differently. One side could be polished, the other side rough. I could
attach them using just pins and one of us could take digital pictures of
each side. We could then epoxy it latter (with matching handles) when it
had served its show & tell purpose. For that matter, we could use the
knife as a "finish mule", using varying degrees of polish or a polish on
one side and a bead blast on the other. On the other hand, maybe I
shouldn't open up any more cans of worms for you.
