Hello everyone!

Don't really have much time to participate here (or to take images for that matter), but since I had all my knives out today (gotta love moving!) I thought I'd do a roundup of the knives of 2015 so far. Two are missing - my lucky draw at the CKCA banquet, a wonderful piece by JR Cook, MS, is still being held by customs... and a great Dragonboat still sails across the oceans towards me...

The image has all pieces spread out on three sheeths of paper, snapped while waiting for more boxes with stuff to be delivered. No frills, no quality. Just felt like posting an image again.

Here goes - more on the knives later as time permits.

Wishing all of you a great day!

Best regards,
Alex

Alex,
Good Luck with the move.
Wonderful Collection.
Well layed out photo, the background enhances the knives very nice.

Really like seeing all together like this. Nice collection, especially if just 2015 pick-up's. Also nice photo. I just did my spring/summer cleaning of all my knives and took a photo spread out on dinning table. It didn't turn out anything like this.

you have excellent tast, my friend!
I wish your Dragon Boat was there to join the others for this photo :(

Hello!

Thanks for looking and commenting guys! Much appreciated! :) :)

One trend I am seeing in my collection is that I move away more and more from folders and smaller knives. To think I managed to depict the complete catch of 2014 on two of these very sheats (a little texture overay applied)...

Guess I will have to get more of these paper strips before the year is over... ;)

The knives in this year's mix to this point are by following great makers (roughly going from left to right):

Gus Cecchini / GTC- folding flipper Due-Dagger with stag scales (a first for Gus)
J. Neilson, MS - stag bowie (also has a wonderful Paul Long sheath)
Milan Mozoli - ring guard bowie
Ben Tendick - northwest special (a re-catch)
John Cohea - full-frame bowie with weathered oak handle
Luca Bubu Garanti - san-mai camp knife / chopper (one of my regular users)
Ulrik Beyer (Koraat) - dragonfly Kamisori in monosteel (this one and it's brother, made of Ulrik's own wootz are my current every day razors)
Dionatam Franco, JS - chef knife - JS-test piece
Shawn McIntyre, MS - coined-guard bowie
CAS - damascus Khuk
Ulrik Beyer - wootz dragonfly Kamisori (see above)
Ray Richards - blackwood dagger (and wrought iron, of course... ;) )
Bob Appleby - damascus dagger
Ben Seward, JS - 11" blackwood chopper
Ben Tendick - northwest special (also a re-catch)
Sam Taylor / madscienceforge (mecha on the forums) - beta-titanium "light-sword" - the reflections in this one are out of this world
Michel Mayer / aliaswonder - bamboo-handled kitchen knife
Sam Taylor / madscienceforge (mecha on the forums) - beta-titanium "specimen-slicer" - made of the material that went into the Titanilor (which I hope to be adding later this year)
Milan Mozolic - musk-ox bowie (wish me and the horn luck please!)
Milan Mozoilic - damscus fighter
CAS - chef knife
CAS - crown-stag dagger
Milan Mozolic - stag recurve-bowie-fusion fighter (the wide-angle distortion got the upper guard and handle section on this one really bad!)
Milan Mozolic - damascus fighter
CAS - stag fighter
Roman Blaha - damascus camp knife (another regular user - re-catch here)
Roman Blaha - damascus and bog-oak puukko (regular user as well)

Hope I got them all.

Tim, thanks for the wishes! I sure have come to hate moving more and more each time! Fingers crossed it will all work out this time. ;)

Mark - let's see your shot please! Would love to! :)

All the best,
Alex

Hi Lorien!

Thanks buddy! Will shoot you a mail tomorrow morning - got WAAAAAAY behind everything. Meant to talk to you earlier. The Dragonboat will be here for real shots of the year's end-loadout for sure! Can't wait to try it out!

I just saw the forged-in-fire-thread - I can't see it but have been following J. Neilson's and Mareko Mamausi's posts on Instagram on the show. I do actually like J.'s work quite a bit and thought I would pop in one stylized individual snap (toying around with blending modes) of this year's knife of his right away for that matter:

All the best,

That heap of steel is as wild as a pack of Pokemon!

very nice collection ALEX. Great images :) Good luck with the move
Cheers Keith

Hello Alex, thanks for the peak into your collection. You are certainly doing your part to support custom knives.
I'm impressed by both your knives and your diverse taste as demonstrated by the broad range of types/styles of knives in your collection.

That heap of steel is as wild as a pack of Pokemon!

love that line^
because it's true! There is a consistency behind the diversity displayed here- lots of different types, but an underlying thread that stitches it all together.

You're my kind of collector, dude :)

Great display Alex! I myself had the privilege of playing
with the pixels of two of your beauties for my latest book
that was published a few months ago....

I think you will like their display... :)

All the best,
David Darom (ddd)
