I hope everyone here has read this. If not, I highly recommend it. Vastly entertaining and incredibly informative. Don't mind the spatters.

It has a place of honor on my bookshelf. Unfortunately my copy is black and lacks the blood spatter but I'm certain that...erm...arrangements can be made, should this be necessary.

The truly humorous thing about it is that the guy I worked with that turned me on to it used to talk about zombies all the time; we had many spirited discussions about how to deal with a level 4 outbreak during downtime. I found out later (from his wife, of all people) that he was serious.

Ah, well. It's still a good book. I particularly enjoyed the suggestion to "troll for zombies" from the back of a slow-moving truck with a firearm.

The cool thing about this book is that there will be a movie made named as of now "World War Z" which will be produced Brad Pitt's production company Plan B with Paramount (I think)..WWZ is set to take place 10 years after the zombie apocalypse. Also Crown Publishing is at this time set to release the book this Sept 12th

Yep, level 4 outbreak would kill me probably. Although, my families office building could withstand quite a few zombies. The main floor isn't that great. Storm glass in the windows with glass doors. It could probably keep 50 zombies at bay. However, the warehouse and upstairs are great:) Steel construction with steel doors that roll down, stairs that are wooden and easily destroyed as well as only accessable from inside the sealed warehouse. From upstairs, you can drop down into the bathroom and use it as long as services hold out. Also from upstairs you can gain access to the roof (a full 30' in the air) which will give you a view of the surrounding land. fences and natural lay of the land mean that they would only come through an open field or down the road. Easy pickings with any good scoped rifle. Also from up stairs you can access the waterlines without breaking them. Furthermore, although it is relatively unprotected by a crappy fence, I have 26,700 gallons of water that is both covered and clean enough to drink. With a little notice and about 3 hours of labor, i have the materials to pump said water up the 30' building to the upper floor. With further notice, I could stregthen the fence to withstand at least a level 2 outbreak maybe a level 3 with enough help. There are plenty of surrounding warehouse type buildings that could be gotten to if the zombies were held at bay long enough.
Lemme see:
4 khuks (20" Kobra, 22" GRS, 18" Sher Attitude, 14" villager Siru)
one folding German millitary grade shovel
600' of rope that will hold up to 350lbs
some food (enough for 3 or 4 days)
chemicals that when mixed together can become explosive enough to knock a zombie back or maybe set him on fire.
my Munk Chunk Cleaver "Thunderbird". A crack to the head with that will ruin a zombie's day;)
As long as the electricity holds out, a hot bath with a replaceable filter (hot tub).

Beats a kick in the head;)

Good book, great read, whether it was meant to be humor or not, you can tell a lot of serious thought went into it.
