The ZT 0102 Hawk

So, I recently picked up the ZT 0102 Hawk off of the forums here, and it is an absolutely stunning piece of steel









I mean, every feature on this thing is just outstanding. The lines are perfect, and it looks just absolutely bad ass. The steel is supposedly outstanding as well, using the Vanadis 4 Extra, it's supposed to beat out pretty much all the steels the major players are using right now. Everyone was crazy about these things coming out, and somehow they are still sitting in stock at online retailers. How is this even possible? What do you guys think?

They're not cheap, but they are definitely a lot lower priced than the other big players in the hawk game. And they're using what appears to be superior materials. For what you're getting, I'd say the price is pretty good, especially when we're comparing to the other guys.
 
The Vanadis 4 Extra is tough - the same steel in the original ZT0180 - and I have batoned the crap out of that knife with no chips, rolls or really any degradation of the edge OR the coating.

The coating really impressed me; the coating on some other brands rubs off readily, but not this ZT DLC coating....

I also love the ZT0102, but I have not done much chopping with it since the Kershaw Camp 18 is so much fun and is a great chopper.

My 0102 is not going anywhere though. ;^)
