In the event anyone cares: I was digging around the basement and found an old box that's moved with me over the years, but never unpacked. It's a bunch of stuff from my desk when I was around 12 years old (nearly 30 years ago I think). I was shocked to find my old and probably first watch and pocket knife. Since that time I've never been out of the house without a pocket knife. I thought that watch was long gone. It doesn't work, but it sure brought back some memories.
Here are some pics of what I had then and what I had with me the day I found those. Not a whole lot has changed.

That's funny. A good match for the same style of equipment.
The K55K paint job looks worn but from what shows of the blade, it's clean.

I had to run the blade over some 400 grit paper to clean it up. I remember it was painted black and even cold blued at one point.

Nice find, which proves that you retained good choice in gear, which is why not a lot's changed........ Right first time!

Many thanks for sharing!

I still have the same knives from 40 years ago (I'm a hoarder) but I wish I had kept the first watch diving I received in 1969 as my 13th birthday present. I have the box it came in but not the watch as I had worn it swimming 20 years ago and it filled with salt water and I stupidly tossed it away in anger. :(

That's awesome man! I love when I come across stuff I'd packed away ages ago and forgotten about. It brings you back to great times in your youth. Some people could care less about sentimental stuff like that but I can appreciate it. Thanks for sharing. :-)

Great find, can't imagine what memories are being dredged up  have a good evening
