Theory: Schrade collecting makes you fun, kind, eloquent and thoughtful?

Quite a while ago I bought a beat up old knife with an unlikely story to have a mystery to solve and I just posted it in Bernard Levine's forum to see what the expert thought and why he thought it.

I knew I may have been scammed but bought it anyway.

I'm taking quite a bit of abuse over it and just wanted to say that the people who hang out here are the best. We nearly always treat each other with respect. While I see good natured ribbing I have seen no real attacks on people when they ask a question no matter how unenlightened it may be. Name calling has been totally absent as it should be in any civilized discourse.

I was taught in school that the only dumb question is the one you don't ask and this maxim holds true if you want to learn.

Just wanted to say "thanks, guys" for making this a safe place to be temporarily mis-informed! :thumbup:

Dave - I find it hard to understand why you'd be abused elsewhere
Your posts are always well thought out (not a pun) and presented clearly.
I always learn something from them.

I'll also thank the major players that've set the tone for this forum.
New members are made to feel welcome and their contributions add to the whole.
Any comments that pass the level of friendly sarcasm are quickly spoken to and the forum moves on.

Right back at ya Larry. You are always quick to come through with mucho information and pics to answer peoples questions and this community certainly wouldn't be the same without you. Your collection raises the bar pretty damn high lol Good on ya!
