Here are the three different types of fiddlebacks

The top is a mid tech hiking buddy
We get the S35VN blades and canvas micarta scales in and make some minor improvements to them. That includes cleaning up the spines, assembly and sharpening followed by packing for shipments
The second tier
Custom shop
We get the S35VN blades in and do all the aforementioned prep to the blades.
Aubrey and others decide which scales go to which knife and they get the Andy Roy shaping and hand sanding

The handmades have everything done inhouse... From scribing, the profiling from a bar of steel and everything else laid out in mistwalkers sticky thread
About the "road to fiddleback Friday".. The steel is typically O1and A2 with a little CPM154 scattered randomly.... all sport the trademark "bullseye"

why middle one could not be done with upper one screws or with mosaic pins?

Awesome! I have wanted a HB in CPM S35VN since 2010. I'm gonna have to snag one with a micarta handle if I can :)

Taja
We can use mosaics on future runs
I'm not sure how the shiney mosaics will look on a tumble finished knife though

Edit
This holds true for the runt, Bushfinger and camp knife as well

 I'm seriously considering one of those Custom Shop Hiking Buddies in S35vn, I might breakdown for a nice burlap. ;)

I thought this was going to be a thread about your 3 best friends Vance.

Me too, I thought this was going to end with "... and then there's the one that will l help you bury the bodies".

What about the 3 types of Camps? I know someone that has one of each.... ;)

3 levels of a Runt. :D

What is the grind on the Mid-Tech and Custom Shop? I've seen the Mid-Tech listed on one site as flat and another as convex.

The mid techs/production knives (which includes the Custom Shop versions) are all flat ground.
