I know its a regular old basic black 303, but a new one is on its way. This will be my first "new" Buck since Christmas 2008. I've bought a few used older ones off the internet over the past few years. I've even bought one of the kids and wife new Buck almost every year, usually a Bantam. But its been a while since I bought a new Buck.
The last Buck I received was a Buck 303 Timberlake for Christmas in 2008. I had every intention of carrying it but decided not to. Over the past few years I have bought some older ones but nothing new from Buck. no particular reason except my interest were somewhere else.
I rotate my edc knife usually after a few months. For almost a year I had carried a Case 07 mini trapper (one of my favorites by the way), about 2 months ago I put my old 703 in my pocket. I received that knife back in 1994 I believe . It was a Birthday present. I started thinking of nice a size it was and yet still useable for most the task I would use a knife for. So earlier in the week I decided just to pull out some of my Buck older contract knives. Looking at the 303 I thought it would be a great carry knife.
With Christmas being around the corner my wife was looking for stocking stuffers and I came up with the idea of a Buck traditional pocket knife. I was really torn between a 303 and a 309.
Now here is the real catcher. The store I bought it from I had a $27 credit, so I was able to get it for $6.42 shipped.
