Just got up and read some posts...I should be going to get something for dinner but their it comes again, that urge to beat on something......
HOT STEEL that is.
Dinner can wait a while.

I cook something while I forge. Charcoal forge is just like a BBQ, and when you turn the blower on for a few seconds it really sears the outside well, trapping all the juices in. I get a nice well done steak in about 45 seconds (blower on for about 15 to sear both sides), med-rare in about 15 (blower on whole time). Your times may vary.

Getting a little itchy to smell that smell myself Larry. Fast as you forge AND cook. You could probably whip up a fine meal and 3 blades in 20 minutes :) Now THAT would make for some good TV..

Almost 4 hours. No wonder I"m hungry.
Some of you know I'm into self-defense so some of the things I make are for protection. One of the things I been doing is called a Vou Kee Ring. Put your car key on it and if someone decides to assult you.....SUPRISE. Anyway I did 3 of them while waiting for the forge to heat up. Then a couple of belly keys. The larger bowie was from an old rasp someone gave me. The claw on the top right was 5160. The 2 hidden tang and the pocket scalpel are in W2. I finished the 2 cordwraps last night and the ram's head wed so I threw them in just for fun.

Only got chicken so I think I'll do stur-fried with beer and gravy, corn, string beans, mashed potatoes, some steemed broccoli, and fresh homestyle biscuits.
O yea some beer while I wait for it to finish. Some beer to wash it down. And more beer for desert. :p

They did an local paper article on me ,a while back,on my knifemaking. In it they said,"Stacy Apelt sets diamonds all day long, when he gets home he puts on a heavy leather apron ,lights a forge, and pounds on 2000 degree hot steel. He says,'nothing relieves tension like pounding on red hot steel.' ". My idea of the perfect house would be the old South American style with a cucina courtyard in the center, only with a forge instead of a bread oven.
