I got a lansky sharpening system for Christmas. A lot of my spare time lately has been spent sharpening all of the knives in my house. Needless to say, there is no hair remaining on my left arm.

Your arm, lol its winter, I dont have hair on either of my legs. I like sharp knives, I don't just want to shave a little splotch, when I'm done I can just glide the blade down my leg and shave a clean path all the way down the width of the blade.

Congrats on the Lansky! I don't have much hair on my arms, and I hate shaved legs, so I usually just test my edges on phone book paper or post-it notes.

I have shaved spots everywhere. .. arms are mostly bare and even my chest hair . I scratched my back with one knife a d shaved it in one spot.my girlfriend laughs at me

I also have a bare left arm and patchy legs...

Yet I also must admit that shaving hair is rather silly thing to do...

body oils end up eating the edge away... you run the risk of cutting yourself... and you have to clean the blade and retouch it to get the oils off after testing.
Which makes you feel the need to test yet again..

It's a vicious cycle!

It starts with arm hair , then leg hair , but when that runs out , its been known that a guy can be taking a leak and realize there is a whole forest of hair right there ...

dont go there , just dont

its embarrassing enough to go the ER cos you slipped shaving your arms and legs or face with your knife

You so dont want to be they guy being assessed for reattachment surgery cos you ran outa things to shave then slipped ...

It's time you graduated to taking a chest hair or some other hair, singular, and doing the hanging hair test to ensure that your blades are sharp. I too once woke up to realize i had no hair on my arms. My friends gave a lot of grief about it, rightfully so.

That, or use phonebook paper. Hard to explain to the ladies (or anyone, really) why you've got arm stubble :p

I get questioned by my family about patches of missing hair on my arms too

I'm not taking knives as sharp as mine anywhere near my junk mang...

The inside of my left forearm stays bare most of the time, as well as a patch or two on both thighs every once in a while. If I could reach my back it would serve two purposes:D

haha this gave me a good laugh. people are constantly asking me about the bald spots on my arms. its fairly awkward explaining my fascination with knife sharpness to people who dont share the hobby

Yeah... my knives are sharp too but I'm not about to start shaving myself to prove it..... here kitty kitty....

Now that I've gotten back into straight razors, both my forearms are now completely bald! At least now I know that I'm stropping correctly....
