Well guys the addiction struck again. Not to long ago I was ecstatic with emotion over my first CRK, the Starbenza. Now like you and I both knew comes along my second.

This one is special to me not only because of its discontinued configuration (CRK Regular with BG42 BLADE), but because of the dates, yes the dates. I don't know what it is but when purchasing CRK's there's something about the dates that entices me. Like for instance, my Starbenza's birthdate is November 13, 2013. Something about the 1's, 3's, and 13's just calls to me :-). I know crazy person here, I'll admit it.

Now it's the same feeling with my Regular's birthdate, which is April 14, 2000. Besides the 4's in 4 and 14 and even numbered 2000. I'm so attracted to it, because it was born 4/14/2000, and I bought it 14 years later in the same month it was born. Which is April, the 4th month. Notice all the 4's, see the resemblance? It's like I took a time machine, rewind back to the month and year I would of got it, and bought it so to speak. Crazy person here, I heard you the first time LOL.

But I won't keep you folks waiting any longer, I present to you my beautiful CRK Regular Sebenza with BG42 blade. Also guest starring my first love, Ms. Starbenza. Enjoy!

I have a couple and I have to agree with Tom, Nyefmaker, that the regular is the best design CRK ever made. Congrats on your first regular.

I have a couple users that I really like a Lot and a couple that are lnib that I have a hard time using/carrying.

Someone push me over the edge.....I bought these to use........

You are a lucky dog! I've been looking for a CRK with an April 14 birthdate because that is my birthday. I am green with envy. Nice knife!

The regular is far superior to the 21 IMO, and I have 9 of them currently. Nice pick up!

Thanks everyone! I couldn't have done it without you (bad influential people), my wallet says so :-).

Congrats on such a great knife

I have a 1997 just like that, and its one of my favorites, as are my other Regulars.
I've also come to like the "Classic" Sebenza just as much, and especially the Classic Micarta's.

A large Classic with the Regular blade shape would be my dream knife.

Have a look at the inner side of your scales towards the lanyard hole end. There is another date there. :)

Amazing knives, great photos. May I suggest about a -.7 exposure adjustment on your camera?

Hehe, if you only knew :-). Most of the pictures you see before you were taken with a measly 5mp camera phone, white cardboard, and a desk lamp. When life gives you lemons, you make lemonade I guess is what I'm trying to say. I've noticed though the more reflective the object (e.g.) polished blades, satin finishes, the more problematic the glare when I'm brightening the photos. I've thought about diffusing the lighting with white sheets, but enjoy the ease of my 3 piece system. Which probably takes all of 5 to 10 minutes to setup and put away depending on how many knives and pictures I take. :)

The "New Design" Sebenza.. both large and small was introduced in late summer 1996.. as we all know by now. Since then it has become, in my very humble opinion and others, the most popular version of the Sebenza... now nyefmaker (Tom/Buck) and clockman (Craig), Birdhunter (Bill) as well as many others here who actually "use" these fine knives.. know what they are talking about when they say.. "The "regular Sebenza" is STILL CRK's Best Design To Date.....!!!!" for me, who as everyone knows does not use these fine knives and merely collects them.. and I have had and still do have a few.. ok several.. they are aesthetically the most pleasing variation of the Sebenza. And my favorite CRK.. (Other than the Umnumzaan of course)
And so.. I have to say I agree with the entire thread!!
All the best, Dave

I've used every sebbie I've owned, and recently got got another after been sebbie-less for a while.. Loved it. I do have to say I prefer the 21 for the small, and regular for large.

I bought my new Regular Small BG42 in 2010 from a dealer. The handle was marked 1998 with no markings on the blade. The blade was offset but after a spa treatment it was brand new. I've carried, sharpened and used it for cutting everything including bait since then. I took it apart about 5 times to give it a good clean. The blade is great and its easy to sharpen. If they manufactured more folders with BG42 I would buy another. Its my favorite edc so far.
