I finally got a little bit of spare time the other day.
Figured I'd do some work on the BK-9.
This knife is just cool. It feels great in the hand. It feels substantial.
Here are some pics of the King shedding his black robe.

Here is the stripper I use. Not sure if it's still for sale.

I let the stripper settle for about 15-20 minutes. The coating comes right off.

Hit it lightly with some 120 grit.

Finished...for now.

Total time for this project was only about 40 minutes.

Looks great. Can't wait to see what else you do with it. I still have to get a 9 eventually, they're probably the most badass fixed blades out there in my opinion.

Aye, she looks mighty good. Why is the ramp still on that beautiful knife though?

:D

I just took off my ramp about a month ago. It was the right move I have no regrets. Knife feels so much more nimble and compact without a ramp. Thinking about adding a choil but I can't decide on shape.

I put a patina on a couple knives yesterday and my 9 was one of them

I also left the coating on the handle,i think since it should be enough to keep rust off,if anything i can always put a patina in the field while hunting.
