Hello Friends, this is my first post in this forum, (I live in Argentina) and it is to ask you about hardening with foil.
The last times I did heat treatment was with k110 steel and foil. The point is that the foil ends up sticking to the knife, how can I avoid that unpleasant subject. ?
Thank you for sharing your experiences with me.

Somebody (I forgot who) on the forum recommended baby powder. I've only used it on seven blades, but so far, so good. I bought the stuff made from talcum powder, the store brand version was mostly corn starch IIRC.

I've never had foil stick before. How are you wrapping and heat treating?

If blades are sticking bad then you’re using the wrong foil for the temp. There are generally 2 stainless foils that are used. 309 stainless is the high temp foil used for the upper end of the heat treating spectrum. That’s all we use here in my shop.
