It is a real knife and it also looks the business. I didn't hesitate for a second when another vendor told me that they had stock. A folder this good demands a twin on the ready line.

How does it feel in hand? Do you think it would make a good slicer?

Been on the verge of getting a Shallot for work, but I'm really liking the way the Thermite looks. I especially like the strong tip. I had a Shallot before and I liked the slicey blade and thin handle profile. I should probably just get both since either one can be had for less than $40.

Above, two pics comparing the Thermite with the Cryo 1. I wish that I had the Cryo 2 for a comparison as it is near the overall length of the Thermite while the Cryo 1 is much smaller. I was considering buying the Cryo 2, and I probably will, but it is quite similar to the Thermite IMHO.

The Thermite has liberated/freed my thinking to some extent in that I don't have to carry a Porche or even a Ferrari in order to feel like I have a capable folding knife handy. I am tickled with this framelock folder on all fronts. Everyone should have one of these.

Gorgeous for a $35 knife...can't wait till mine comes!
It has been a bit of a wait for this one. The sight of the prototype had me hooked right from the jump.

It feels good/capable in the hand like a fine tool. The flipper, after the blade is open, keeps your finger off of the blade during push-cut thrusts. The G10, on one side, is grippy compared to the Cryo 1 to you have a hold of it. I'm right-handed and wear XL gloves. I had Kershaw, the factory is only a few miles from my home, flip the pocket clip. A full-flat grind might make a slightly better slicer. This one arrived quite sharp and slices nicely. I've a large ceramic folder that I carry for slicing food. I've never had the pleasure of using a Shallot but it looks like a fine folder.

I don't have the Cryo 2 but if I was thinking of buying the Thermite I would have to also consider the, slightly smaller, Cryo 2 as both knives are similar. Thermite is easier to hold onto thanks to G10 on one side. Both are assisted flippers.

I keep the Cryo 1 on my desk and use it daily. It is brilliant.
