I'm curious to hear form other Thermite owners, does yours open kind of slowly compared to other SpeedSafe Kershaws? I own several AO Kershaws, including those of similar design (Cryo, Shallot) that really snap open fast. By contrast, my Tremor takes it's time, which is fine considering the size and weight of the blade. Not complaining, just curious if this is the norm is others' experiences with the Thermite.

Yep, compared to my other Kershaws, both of my Thermites feel like they are slower, but they always open, so I figured it was normal for that model.

Minr opend maybe a hair slower but not anything thats a problem.....guess im saying there really isnt much difference than models you named. Was going to say it may be blade length but Tremor has bigger blade of same steel i believe.

Watch your grip. Most people I've handed mine to don't realize they're squeezing the lockbar with their natural grip. I've also found that the detentless Speedsafe knives are a bit slower anyways. Couple that with a thin framelock and I was pretty unhappy with it as an assisted flipper.

Try using the flipper just like you would if it wasn't assisted. No lazy flipping:D. Like was said earlier, maybe ease off on the pivot and check hand position on the lockbar.

I my pretty limited experience with Speedsafe Kershaw the opening speed seems pretty dependent on the size of the knife.

My tremor and thermite are the slowest ones to open. My blurs are faster and quite acceptable. My cryo as pretty fast, and my leek was like a rocketship.

None of them bother me. The leek is pretty cool, but as long ad the knife fully opens everytime I really don't mind how fast it opens n

It sounds like mine performs about the same as most others' do, I guess it's just the norm for the design then. I do wish they had put jimping on the flipper though.
