I am building a new oven it is ready to wire up i just have to find out.
What is the best location for it and how much of the rod has to be inside the chamber?
Thanks for any help you guys can give me.

Bob

Hi Bob , mine is in the centre of the back wall of the oven. The thermal couple only has to have the exposed tip in the furnace but mine has about four inches exposed inside . I am pretty sure that will give you a better reading of the actual chamber temperature without the fire brick influencing it. My oven has an analog control so I added a second digital thermometer as insurance(in my own mind anyway. Stick some pictures up when its complete. Paul

what digital thermometer did you add? where did you get it? I've been wanting to get just that thing for just that reason.
