I checked the stickies and went to Omega site to look for this item could not really find what I was looking for , what iam trying to do is use a electric oven to temper my blades the oven does not have a window on the door so I need a way to monitor the temps with out opening the door to look in at my thermometers. appreciate any info thanks and Happy New Year

Harbor freight sells mulit meters which have a thermocouple inputs. There is one for $39 plus change which measures up to 1385°f.
Or. You can buy a cheap temperature controller off ebay and only use the readout to determine the temperature. Of course this requires a power coard and a thermocouple probe.

thanks damneng I will check them out would like to drill a hole and be able to leave it inside the oven all the time

A cheap oven "meat" thermometer will also work fine. Just set the probe in the oven next to the blade. They cost about $10. They even have a built in timer.

thanks stacy that may work just fine the oven has no window on the door so I can drill a small hole and stick the probe through and leave it , (its not the wifes cooking stove)

You just set the probe in the oven ( simplest way is to set the knife blade on top of it) and close the door on the shielded wire probe lead . It is very flexible and doesn't need a hole drilled. The readout unit usually has a base or magnets on the back that stick it to the stove or some nearby steel surface. My current meat thermometer has two probes, and the readout piece is Wi-Fi. It either sits on the base or you can carry it around while doing other tasks. It also wi-fi links to a phone or computer. I think it cost less than $20. They also have them with three probes. Here is one like it.

I use a PID I built to control my lead furnace for another hobby lol, works great, plug it into the wall, put the probe in my oven and plug the oven into the PID, set the temperature and it stays within a couple of degrees.

I agree a PID and TC will work fine. The oven thermometer is made for the exact task, has two probes, is wi-fi, and costs half what a PID and TC cost.
