Photos of 4 different 97OT's.Schrade had a field day with this tang stamping! Photos show 2 staglons, one is Schrade Tang the other Schrade+ then there is a single blade staglon Schrade tang with the same Full Turkish Sabre Clip blade as all the others plus the traditional 97OT Buzz Saw Trapper with saw blade, field toothpick and tweezers in end slots.First year of production was supposed to be 2000.
One is entitled to question if the staglon Buzz Saws are Uncle Henry versions without the familiar shield however that doesnt sit with the OT <Old Timer> tang. The single blade 97OT must feel quite alone amongst the others!
On the question of unusual Schrade tang stamping I include a mint LB1 Cub with 511SC tang stamp. As the last date of production of the LB1 was 1996 one would not think there were still stock of these available to slap together in those final pre- auction days.
Schrade could be quite inventive rather than make a "Second" out of a knife.
Photos of Uncle Henry LB7 with tang stamp far too low to show model and USA stamping so they simply stamped this one LB 7 USA on the reverse tang and shipped her out."
All interesting anomolies...Hoo Roo
