These fakes will become flawless eventually.....

At work a lady sells fake Louis Vuitton, and my wife bought me an LV wallet for my birthday from the LV store. Lady at work looked at it and said give me a day....I'll bring in a copy. Her $30 wallet was an absolute perfect copy of my $500 one. After research, it turns out 85+% of Louis Vuittons on the street/used/ebay are fake.

I could never pull off carrying a $500 wallet. I bought a kevlar one from ragged edge a few years ago and it is starting to break in a little now (LOL). I gave about $100 bucks for it. I feel bad because most of the time the wallet is worth more than the $ I have in it. Feel like if I was ever mugged, the guy would say, "Here keep the four bucks, Dude! I'm taking the wallet and your Powerball tickets."

I carry a Coach black wallet I got as a five year gift from a company I worked for. The Louis Vuitton I only use when I wear a suit for wedding etc....I did buy my wife a $2500 LV purse for her 40th birthday. She carries it all the time.

You couldn't be more wrong.

First off, the difference is that the cheap production methods use cheaper materials, the steels and reinforcing pieces, so they will be inherently weaker. Do you really think a knife and a purse/wallet are equal in terms of load-bearing and risk to personal safety?

Second, you have absolutely no way to know that percentage of faked goods, you're just making something up to prove your already idiotic point, which is just another layer of stupidity. But yes, OF COURSE THE $50 LV wallets and bags on eBay are fake, you have to be completely daft to think someone is selling a legit good they 'got as a gift and don't need anymore' for $50 instead of $800.

A fake Spyderco may look as good, but it's all in the tolerances and quality of the materials. A bag you can just stitch it together and nobody knows.

Six posts and you start calling people names.....

I am often asked to go the the LV shop(s) in Europe when I go back home to Scotland from Asia. Those bags, wallets and the like are crazy expensive here. I have been to the LV shop in Amsterdam many times now and have talked to the staff about the fake stuff. I see it everywhere over here.
As a customer I am only allowed to buy 6 items from them a year and my name goes on to their list so I can't just go from shop to shop picking up bags at each shop, in Europe anyway. Of course one can just take a friend to buy them for you but not many people are buying that many LV products. You are limited to 2 big bags, 2 small bags/purses and 2 wallets a year.
They say that the fakes are obviously an issue but as with knives, watches, clothes etc. The people that buy the fakes are probably never going to buy the real thing any way so it's not a huge loss to them. The issue is when fakes are represented as real (the obvious ethics and slease aside) but the availablity of the items makes a little homework go a long way.....people that buy real LV products should know to ask where and how exactly did that person selling all those LV items get 10 bags or 20 wallets from and perhaps who payed for them all ? ;)

You think your wallet is just the same and a "perfect copy" but try asking someone that knows what they are talking about. The shops know what to look for and I doubt your $30 wallet would pass inspection by a savvy buyer. :)
I hate that I know this and I was very quick to say "ummm, no" (in a few more words :p) when asked to go to these places but once you talk to people that know their stuff it's always interesting how deep knowledge goes. They had no idea people could spend $100s never mind $1000s on a knife just as I had trouble accepting bags and wallets with similar price tags.

Anyhoo, back to knives..........:D
