the shape of the spine on these in the picture reminded me more of the test team than the HI version. kinda looks like the cold steel kukri too.

Their hat, though worn with a greater tilt off parade, is very similar to the still issued Australian Army Slouch Hat...

Yep.... first generally associated with Australians (or Colonials as it were) during the (second) Boer War.

when i was in middle school we would take boonie hats and fold one side up to give it a similar look. the slouch hat is rather stylish if you ask me.
