Yesterday in a restaurant I saw a little native boy come up and shake the hand of a tall solder in his desert BDUs. There are newly reunited families. in all the stores.A waitress told me that it is no uncommon for a guest to pay for a meal of a group of soldiers anonymously . I think We have one of the largest per capita populations of veterans in the US. We will have a huge welcoming home celebration on the 15th of this month . They were all headed home in August after being in Iraq for a year when they got extended four months.
In July Brian Lucky who went to our church was shot and killed by a sniper when he was on patrol . He was a fine young man. His pregnant wife was my bank teller. Thier son Brian JR was born a few momths ago.
It will be good when they all come home.
