I work in an office, and today I found myself in the unusual position of needing to cut down several cardboard boxes for disposal purposes. I had my Case CV Mini Copperlock in my pocket, but my first thought was to go out to my truck to get my Leatherman Wave or my Kabar Dozier folding hunter. However, I decided I really didn't want to walk all the way out to my truck and decided to give the little Case office knife a try at this serious cutting job.

Well let me tell you...I certainly didn't need any more knife than this. it went through cardboard like it was nothing. It did about as well as my usual box cutting knife, which is a Spyderco Delica with full serrated edge.

The CV steel stayed sharp throughout as well. I'll touch it up, but it probably doesn't even need it.

I was very impressed, needless to say.

If you get a Case knife, get CV.
And if you get CV, then for the love of pete, USE IT. :D

I also EDC a Case with CV blades. I find the same thing true: it holds an edge much better than expected, and needs sharpening about half as much as I actually touch it up (hey, I'm a knut...).

Peace.

I just bought 2 new amberbone Case medium stockmans. One is for looking at mainly and the other is for whittling/carrying purpose. Those CV blades are just plain tough. 2 of the blades I wanted to take to 8-10 degrees for whittling purposes...Lets just say that was a chore. But well worth it. I think I will enjoy the Case CV for a long time.

Anyone else have a problem of buying 2 of everything so you can keep one looking perfect and using the other??

Not me... When I have the money for two knives, I make sure to get two knives!!!

Peace.
Alex.

I don't buy two of everything, but I have bought duplicates of a few favorite discontinued knives. If one is lost or damaged, I don't want to be looking around for a replacement. I've also bought duplicates of knives that go into various kits or as planned give-aways.

Want to sell or trade one?? I missed them, and can't find one; they seem to have disappeared! Popular!!

I have believed for some time, and have posted about, folks not using their knives enough. I use all the knives I own.

I don't buy two of everything, but I have bought doubles of a few knives that I particularly like. I tend to use almost everything I have, though, and the more I like it, the more likely I am to carry and use it. So it's as much to have a ready spare in case of loss or permanent damage as anything else.
