My daughter just got a new dog, a Boxer pup. We are all excitied about him, and when I came across this link, it reminded me why.
An Airman greets his dogs after a 14 month deployment.
They never forget us.

its so amazing how smart dogs are, i was forced to put my dog in a kennel quite a while back and havent been able to get her back yet, but i went to visit her a few weeks ago, shes a blue heeler mix, and when they brought her out she ran straight over to me and jumped right into my lap :D

;)Well, dang it, you made me tear up and cry in my coffie. God's greatest gifts to us kids and dogs!:D:D:thumbup:

Thanks for sharing Esav. Dogs are amazing creatures. The depth of their loyalty sometimes exceeds ours.

Greetings don't get much better than that, I think those two almost wagged their tails off. :)

Great video Esav, unconditional love and friendship. Man's true best friend!

I had an emegency appendectomy 2 years ago. When I got out of the hospital 5 days later my Doxie would not leave me alone. She seemed to understand that I couldn't pick her up or anything and she sat by my feet, either protecting me or making sure I couldn't leave again. Now I'm on the road and she is protecting She Who Must Be Obeyed. But every 4 months or so when I get home she is all over me.
Thanks Esav, the tears are worth it!

Back in the mid-80s, I was forced to let go of a fine dog -- a Shepherd mix that turned out to have quite a bit of wolf. A gentle, loving animal who just frightened the neighbors -- because she was large and fearsome looking.

I was stationed in Colorado at the time. I found a great family who really wanted her. They have their own ranch in the Sandia Mountains of New Mexico.

I don't get by to visit very often; no more than once every two or three years.

And that dog STILL remembered me. She's gone now (old age), but the last time I visited she leaped three fences and a calf ... knocked me over ... and gave me a very professional and very thorough 'hello' (all over my face). I never forgot her and she never forgot me.

Dogs. Gotta love 'em. :D

Cool clip...

Our pug, when Alex left for college was so verklempt that we had to drive him to Alex's dorm room to show him that Alex was ok. This weekend Alex came home for the weekend. You have never seen a happier pug.

esav, if you don't mid, I am going to repost that in the W&SS dog thread...

Please do, Brian. I couldn't find that thread -- I meant to add this to it. Just as well, it's worth the extra exposure.

Dogs are great that way. Our first Boxer would give me the same routine every day I came home from work!
(He also gave me the same routine when I reached for his leash and he knew we were headed outside. :D )

Yep... sometimes those critters make it all worthwhile! Don't let that new pup push you all over! :D

It will be a while. Nine weeks old is still small enough to handle -- with one hand. :)

Man I love dogs (but not the little yappy or the frenchy foo foo ones) ... :)

Their smell, affection, loyalty, behaviors, need for the pack, protectiveness.

Basically, I guess what I am saying is I hate cats. :D

My dog has the habit of first peeing of joy and then growling in anger when someone of my family comes back after leaving for a long time. He's growling because he doesn't like it when a family member is not with the rest. It's kinda sweet. It's not a typical growl, it's very special and emotional, very intense. After a minute it's pure happiness again, like in the video.
