All right, I need the help of the knife enthusiast collective.

I've seen the maker's mark in this photo, before.

I can't remember who it belongs to, and I would like to get ahold of them, because I don't think this knife is an original.....

It is. Thank you!

Edit: yeah, that's right. There are already some Borka clones out there. Mostly folders. Well, if anybody has contact info, I may as well hip Mr. Berenji to this new "inspired by" blade. He probably already knows.

I've seen a few clones / "inspired" knives - I think manual and automatic versions of a folder and a fixed blade. I don't think I'd ever noticed any of them being brazen enough to use the actual logo, however. Gross.

Cloning a design is one thing, as it's just aping the form. Using the logo, however, is like forging a check. It's not only copying the design, but ascribing credit (and fault if the item is of lesser quality) to someone else if it were to change hands to someone none the wiser... Which is made considerably easier by copying the logo.

It takes the already awful practice and worsens it by introducing the potential for deception and brand damage.

Can you please share which brand is stealing IP and copyright? I’d love to say as many bad things as I can about them.

I don't want to give them even that much recognition. This is the internet, where any publicity is good publicity.

I will say that the listing is from an internet vendor that is headquartered overseas (at least, if you're in the States). That should be enough of a wink and a nudge for people to figure it out.

If somebody has contact information for Borka Blades, I'll pass along a link. Other than that, I don't want to share enough information to set any search pointers.
