OK, I've searched on here, on another popular forum, and at the Camillus web-site (among even more places), but cannot find the answer.

What is the blade thickness of the Camillus Pilot's Survival Knife? I have an Ontario version of the same knife, and it is about 0.2" thick. QUITE thick. As I remember, a Cammie AFSK I had in my youth was not nearly so thick, but I could have killed off the brain cells that catalogued that. So, can anyone out there with the Camillus version answer that?

Anyone have both brands of the AFSK?

Hi Rockspyder,

Lost a few cells myself over the years!

If I remember correctly the Camillus AFSK is about .160 thick.

Anyone got one handy to measure?

Dimensions using calibrated Starrett dial calipers

Camillus 5733 Pilot Survival knife: .190”

Ontario 499 Air Force Survival knife: .194”

Keep in mind the Ontario knife has a Zinc Phosphate finish, this could be the reason for the .004 thousands difference.

Both are Quality Knives made in the USA.

I guess I can't either, because I certainly SEEM to remember that the one I had growing up was thinner than what I have now. And even as a teenager or younger, I wouldn't be able to tell the difference between 0.190" and 0.194". Maybe it was a counterfeit. But I thought I also remembered it being marked Camillus. I guess not.

They may have changed the blade thickness at some point? The two that I measured are new knives from 2006-2007

It is probably still around my Mom's house. I'll have to check the next time I visit.
