How much $$$?Hello all, Just signed up and privileged to be able to ask. Im seeking the sturdiest heavy use folder that is EDC legal in California something along the lines of the now closed RBK ‘Pig’.
Thanks in advanced for your valued input. Best Regards to all
Thanks to all for the repliesHeh. Welcome.
If cost and wait time are no object, see if you can get Andrew Demko to make you a version of the infamous "Bunker Buster."
You'll have to do some digging to find out what exactly that is, but if you're new to the deep pit that is true knife obsession, it will be time well spent. And, it will help you get used to the (at first) shocking price of custom knives, which is where you will find yourself anyway, if you let us whisper in your ear for long enough.
If you're not ready to got for the $1100 option, or the two-year (or longer) wait time for one of Mr. Demko's masterpieces, then there are options, and all kinds of price points. If you're willing to give us some idea of blade length, blade thickness, and price, we might be able to be more helpful.
Or, you could just buy a Spyderco Paramilitary 2, a ZT 0450 (I think that's the number), or a Benchmade Adamas, like others will suggest. They each reflect a very different design philosophy, so you have some comparing to do.
I have one. They are awesome, monstrous folding knives.I've heard good things about the Cold Steel 4Max.
Yes, LA has a 3" restriction I believe and some of the smaller OC cities have their own restrictions. Know your laws...!No statewide length restrictions here, but if you're up there in SoCal or one of our major cities things may be different.
Btw I always hear good things about the really tough cold steel folders so that's definitely where I'd look if I was in the market.
I second that. The Praetorian is as robust as a folder can be, that is if you can pay the price.Thick and Sturdy ...that screams Medford to me. They're thick , heavy and expensive. A little heavy and wide for me. But the Praetorian is pretty cool looking. The steel selection is limited too
