I am likely picking up a small 21 with Micarta inlays regardless of the answer to this question so perhaps I am asking more out of anticipation that concern. Do the inlays of any material add much to the overall thickness of the knife? Looking at pictures it appears they only protrude an almost indiscernible distance past the bolt heads.

I don't have calipers with me, but they protrude a significant and noticeable amount. Just guessing, I'd say they make the slabs 25% thicker.

by my calculations on a small Micarta
outside of slabs=.395"
outside of micarta = .487", so Kidcongo was pretty close
It fills the hand nicely

I am somewhat new to inlays ( only had them for a couple years ) as I have always been the cgg/ug guy. There is a noticable difference in hand with an inlay vs. no inlay. I love the feel of the inlay in hand. I believe you will too.

CPP you will like the inlays, the addition of a tiny bit of thickness makes a BIG difference in the feel. Micarta is a great knife handle material.

Good Luck With It.

I received a small Sebenza 21 with an Insingo blade and micarta inlays and love. The added thickness-if only slight-only adds to the knife's usability. Thanks for the input.
