Guys, for those of you who own a large 21 sebenza with inlays. How much thincker are the knife handles with them? I know that they (inlays) are partially recessed, but how much is above the handle? Does anyone have any pics of them (that show handle thickness with the inlay)?

Thanks,
Sincerely
John

Hello John,

An apology for the poor pictures but it is night-time here and my camera isn't very good at fine details. But the main problem even over those obstacles is my photography skills level :D

Anyway, my heart is in the right place and I have tried to show you the inlay here. It does indeed add a fair amount of width to the knife and I would always recommend buying an inlaid Sebenza as I love the extra grip and feel. I think they're all around the same depth except for leather option which, unless it has changed recently, is a slimmer finish.

I hope this helps you out,

Mark, thank you very much! The pictures are great. Being modest with the pic skills?

They don't portrude as much as I thought hey would. Not in the least!

I do have a classic 2000 large sebenza. But thought the inlaid versions have some nice lcass to them. I had jsut been wondering if the inlays would be too bulky.

Thanks again for the pics!

Sincerely,
John

Thanks hbui & John - I'm glad that the pictures helped.

Yes, the inlays don't really look or feel too bulky but they still add a lot of grip and comfort over the plain titanium.

I think that they have got the balance just right.

:)

I measure mine as 1mm extra per side. Best thing about the inlays IMO is when you unlock the frame single handed, Your fingers naturally want to grip onto the micarta on the pocket clip side.

Large Sebenza 21 with Micarta inlays side-by-side with Spyderco Paramilitary..... Both my favorite knifes.....
