thickness on the new Stretch

Hey guys,

I am a big fan of the CF Stretch even though it's high price has kept me from getting one.

I notice there is quite a big difference in weight between the CF and FRN. I'm about to pull the trigger and get one, but can't decide if I want to drop 50 bucks extra for the CF. I do like the feel of a heavier, thicker knife in my hand. The frn endura's were always too thin in the handle for me.

I was wondering if someone could take a pic of both (CF AND FRN) side by side so I could see the thickness of the handles.

Thanks,

It's appreciated.

CF version is heavier, but thinner...

Thanks Deacon,

I never realized the CF model was so thin. I've obviously never held one.

I really like the full length liners of the CF also. I'm guessing the FRN model is really similar to a FRN Endura in weight and feel.

Would I be correct?

I'm guessing the FRN would carry better and the CF would feel better in the hand.

Decisions....Decisions........Decisions....

The FRN Stretch is nicely sized for a tight grip. I have smallish hands and still can get a serious purchase on it. This is based on handle-shape ergonomics mostly.

Compared to blades like the Manix2 it disappears in the pocket.

Yes, the FRN Stretch is identical in construction and thickness to the FRN Endura. It's 8 grams lighter, probably because the blade and handle are both a bit shorter.

As for comfort, I look at it the other way around. The thinner CF version rides better in the pocket, the thicker handle of the FRN one feels more comfortable in hand.

Many thanks Deacon and Snagblade,

Maybe the Stretch isn't for me after all. I like a thick handle.

.......but there is no reason not to snag a vg-10 endura while I'm thinking about it.

I've never had a vg-10 Spyderco. I've only had zdp and s30v.

need to try it out.

Yeah I hadn't gotten my first VG-10 model until after 6 S30v models. Then I picked up a D-fly and Delica SE and man, that is good sh....I mean steel... :D
