Does anyone feel as I do that the factory Grivory and even the Micarta grips are way too fat?

I really prefer a thinner grip, like the ones on the BRKT STS line is great. I'm talking like 5/8" total width.

Anyone rescaled a BK7/9 etc. with thinner material maybe with countersunk head bolts?

I don't have very large hands, so I definitely understand. Here's your chance to mod your scales. You'll have to measure, but I bet you could take 1/32" off the inside of each scale and thin it up a bit...maybe more if you filled the holes with Marine-Tex or similar then re-drilled them. I think the problem you'll have if you take off too much is the scales will be too small around their perimeter.

To answer your original question, I've never seen thinner scales - only thicker ones. Of course, you could always taper the tang, too....but that'd be a big suck pill of a job.

Wouldn't be too hard to make a set of thinner ones. I usually use 3/8" stuff for my scales, but you could do quarter inch. I personally think that would be too thin, but whatever floats your boat.
