I have a customer looking for a knife with a blade thickness of .040" or less. Its purpose is to cut the seals around aircraft windows. Any suggestions?

Ragnar has some on the Clipper handle that are listed as .050 at the spine tapering down to .020. Food for thought.

How about a Centofante 4? Not 0.04 but close. The cutting edge of a C-IV should work well too.

length overall 7 1/2" (190 mm)
blade length 3 " (76 mm)
blade steel VG-10
length closed 4 1/2" (114 mm)
cutting edge 2 15/16" (75 mm)
weight 2.5 oz (69 g)
hole diameter 15/32" (12 mm)
blade thickness 5/64" (2mm) 0.078125
handle material FRN

$43

Does he work on airplanes/jets ? That's sort of an odd need , no ? call me paranoid.

Please elaborate. I would say a utility knife, unless I am on the plane:)

Thanks for the input, guys. I think the Super Knife is probably ideal for the application. This is a company that does retrofitting and repair to air frames.

I have done that, a standard Olfa knife is most common as it is the standard carpenter work knife.
