Hey guys. I'm sure these typing questions get asked a lot. There's a huge selection of knives out there to choose from, and I'm not familiar with any of them

I'm searching for an inexpensive EDC. I'd like it to be THIN but sturdy, and it must be tip down and have a deep carry clip. Assisted opening with a thumbstud would be ideal

And ofcourse be able hold a decent edge for a while

What knives under $25 would meet my criteria?
What would be my best option?

Thanks a ton!!

You can get a Gerber LST for under $25. Those are indeed quite thin and light.

+1 on the Kershaw Cryo. The Kershaw Volt is also a good option. I have the slightly more expensive USA-built Shallot, and it is awesome. Unbelievably thin, sturdy, and a lot of blade for the overall folded size. But the Cryo meets all of your stated needs perfectly, including price. And with this brand, the ones made overseas like the Volt and Cryo don't seem to suffer much in the quality department (but they do use less expensive materials).

Thanks again. That volt doesn't have what I consider a deep carry clip, though. To me, deep carry means that the handle is totally concealed by my pocket, with none sticking out or showing
The cryo seems like a good choice, but I'm concerned about the grip-ability of the nitride coated handle

It's not very "grippy"

No offense, but you are being very picky for a $25 knife.
There are tons of options, but you won't get everything you want.

Thanks for the feedback
What if I said $35? Does that open up any better options?
I don't use a knife all THAT much honestly
My last edc was a sanrenmu gb63 or some such... Axis lock, g10, open liner, and I liked it alot but got tired of the axis lock when closing it. Was a great knife for 13 buls tho!

Just look at all the Kershaw offerings - if you want an assisted flipper at this price point, a Kershaw is the right one to get. Someone already mentioned the Thermite. It has a grippy scale, and deep carry. There is also a Cryo G10 for $35. They have many with grippy handles, and different kinds of pocket clips. Plenty of options. Clash, Brawler, Sweet, Burst, Swerve, etc., etc.

A couple of shots of the G-10 Cryo. Talk about bang for your buck.

Here it is with a Buck Bantam and Kershaw Clash that AntDog mentioned.

I dig that cryo! Don't they have them with that funky recurve tanto blade shape too?

I might have to pick one of those up myself....

That seems quite a bit bigger than I expected. I wonder how it compares to the thermite?

The Cryo blade length is 2.75". I googled your previous EDC and found it listed as 68mm, which works out to 2.67". So the blade you've been carrying is pretty close to the same length as the Cryo, FWIW.

The Cryo is a nice size for EDC, IMO.
