Thin edge on m390 okay?

I'm considering reprofiling with the aligner my edge on my Benchmade 755 mpr to roughly 22-27 degrees since the aligner guides aren't perfectly accurate. I'll probably be adding a micro bevel too. Is this to shallow of an angle and I'll be risking chipping or will it be fine as along as I don't abuse the knife?

Thanks,

well thats about 10-11 per side and holds up fine :)

I think so. Here I demonstrate a zero grind on an M390 blade. The acute angles held. I'd say go for it:)

M390 is pretty tough for the amount of edge retention, it will sooner roll than chip

That's good news. I've re-bevelled M390 to 15 degrees, (30 inclusive) and it works quite well. Perhaps I'll take it to 12.5.

At 12.5, an M390 blade polished to .25 micron should be, as they say, "totally awesome, Dude.":D
:D

I am able to shave my face with it at 15 degrees. It's quite a nice steel.:thumbup:
