Anybody that knows me knows that I love me some thin knives. As thin as I can get away with on any given knife and have it still be able to perform it's intended tasks is what I go for.

Well, this week I received two extra thin beauties.

A Gentleman's Steak Knife that measures in at .05".

And a thin Nessmuk coming in at .092".

I also didn't realize how nicely the muk handle swells and contours. I should have known better.

The "Steak Knife" is like a laser and the Nessy is just a slice and dicer. To give you an idea, the muk is thinner than the machete it is sitting on top of. I am really looking forward to more thin knives from Andy especially the kitchen variety.

Here is a family pic of some of my favorites just for kicks. I have beat the living crap out of the Bushfinger and it doesn't even look used. And I mean I have beat it like a red headed step child . . . like it owes me money . . . like, well you get the idea. :D:D

If you have some thin knives please post some pics. I like seeing the thin ones.

Keep up the good work Andy!!:cool:

I would post my thin FBF but it would be kinda reduntant as you bought its twin. Wait til you use the GSK it truely is laser like. Its so thin that it just moves effortlessly thu just about anything you put it against. After my snubnose and machete get here. I will be getting a Chef or a Padre in the same lager G-10 and pin combo. But I have been thinking Andy needs to put out a set of for real steak knives I mean I will be needing to fill up the FBF knife block or better yet get me one of them magentic holders that go on the wall and show em off like artwork!

Damn I like that steak knife!!!!
I'd love for nay to make stainless kitchen knives. Can stainless be 3D spalted?

I really need (not want) one of those steak knives ! Andy any hints on when another one may be available ??????

Thin is in, I'm with you there. If you want it to cut, thin, sharp, hard. If you want to cleave well that's another thing.
Got my first fiddleback a couple of weeks ago, hikers buddy, haven't used it much yet, comfy handle, not thin, not sure about O1 steel, a good steel, retro...

Dang, that is a nice set of FB's. Ive been staring at the picture for 10 mins, and didnt even realize it.

It can, but it drastically reduces the rustproof characteristics. Read that that it'll rust if you put it in the dishwasher.

Well, I can tell you that I got a lot more of that steel in. Probably make a steak knife, but also, its time to work on the filet design. That steak knife can be flexed like you wouldn't believe!

01 steel is designed for edgeholding. It'll tarnish, but it'll patina, and prevent tarnish too. Might suprise you. Yours is likely 5/32" thick if you say its not thin. Some are thinner. Let me know what you think of it.

Thanks for all the comments everybody. The Steak Knife is a sweet one for sure. I had a chance to use it a little and it is deadly. Does flex a lot as well and works great as a small utility kitchen knife.

Now surely somebody has some other thin Fiddlebacks. If it's 1/8" or less post a pic.:thumbup:

Here's my thin ladyfinger with my other ladyfinger in the photo for size comparison. Both of them are also stainless CPM154 ladyfingers. Even though it doesn't look like it since I just washed it last night, I've taken the thin one on a few camping trips this summer and I am super happy with it.

Sweet Lady Fingers icyblue!! I really like that thin one with the 3d spalting. It goes nice and deep into the convex grind. One of these days I'll grab one of those.:cool:

That Paduk still looks good as shit. You keeping it rubbed down with mineral oil?

It's definitely still looking incredible. I've been trying to stay on top of it by giving it a light rubbing of mineral oil after use almost every time.

Andy, a Fillet knife would be EXCELLENT!!!! :D
Count me down for 1 for sure...:thumbup::cool:

Any ideas on what steel & grind, thickness etc...???
