I'm looking for a thin knife in a similar size to a falkniven f1, but not as thick. I will be using it during camping trips for slicing food. I find that thicker blades tend to push away and not really slice as such and is more of a hinderance than a help.

I don't even know where to start looking.

Please help

I bought a Blind Horse Knives Maverick scout for that exact same use. A teeny bit more expensive than an F1, but it slices like a laser. Money well spent, in my opinion.

AG Russell Deer Hunter. 4 inch blade, .080 in thick. Available in a couple steels, including VG-10 (F1's core). (And it's only around $60 US)

Convex the edge and you are in business.

Does it need to be a fixed blade knife? I use an Opinel for food processing during camping trips. It has a thin and sharp blade and is an excellent slicer.

Check out Matt caldwell 1-5. I love this blade, if it is a little longer then you like. There is a 4" version.
